ST Bungalow LLC
Non-ferrous formwork patent drawing

A live load of 243 psf was achieved in scaled model testing as depicted in the images above and below. FEA calculations show that 300psf is possible.

Product

Non-ferrous formwork of a particular geometry or shape replaces the use of reinforcing steel in the construction of flat elevated concrete surfaces such as floors or roofs as well as decks in bridges and other infrastructure. THIS PRODUCT HAS THE POTENTIAL TO CHANGE THE ENTIRE BUILDING INDUSTRY.

We hold three (3) issued patents from the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Our most recent patent is found here: US 12,516,522B2.

SOLVING TODAY'S RECYCLING CHALLENGES

Repurposing

Utilizing recycled composites provides a profitable re-purposed product. Recycling opportunities exist in many industries such as wind turbine blades.

Construction Cost Reduction (Affordable Housing)

This technology replaces labor-intensive transport and placement of expensive steel rebar and mesh. Because of the tensile strength and added compression provided from the shapes, different kinds of concrete (e.g. low-carbon, light-weight) can be used. Non-ferrous stay-in-place formwork means oxidization prevention of steel rebar. The forms also mean compensation for the tensile strength deficiency of concrete. It is “stay-in-place” meaning it is consumable and used once, remaining part of the construction.

Sustainable Alternatives

The formwork provides a sustainable alternative to steel rebar and carbon intensive concrete thereby reducing CO2 in construction.
